If I had been told that there would be a compulsory holiday
I would have argued blindly_ we've got to hussle you know
We went about our business, looking for daily bread
Totally ignorant of what was soon to hit us.
But then she came, an unwanted visitor ready to stay by hook or by crook
Little did we know that this queen with a crown would be the cause of our compulsory holiday
When she came into the land, slowly and steadily claiming dominance
We thought she was just like the other maidens who by a wave of hand could very well be dismissed.
We thought she had only come for one not until she had three of our able bodied young men down.
We didn't know what hit us but we had realized that if we didn't act fast, we would all be victims of the compulsory holiday.
Our own priests didn't even know how to defeat this mysterious queen.
The priests from the other lands also had no idea who she was
And then people started coming up with different ideas on her identity, turning this to a game of gambling.
Some said she was sent by the creator to punish us, others said she was a maiden from a faraway land.
But that's not even the point now...
Slowly and gradually, we are all been made to observe this compulsory holiday we feared
So as not to incur the wrath of this mysterious queen
Because so we heard, she sniffs life out of man like steam seeping out of a teapot
Some say we only need to turn back to our creator and we would all be safe
But whatever way it takes, all I know is that I want a break from this long break
Oh yes! We want a break from this compulsory holiday.
